Dr. Stephanie Wolf, JD, PhD

Dr. Stephanie Wolf has been practicing psychology for more than 15 years and specializes in the treatment of trauma and child and adolescent behavioral concerns. She works with children, teens, and adults who have experienced trauma, whether recently or earlier in life, helping them process those experiences and move forward with greater stability and resilience. Known for her empathy, humor, and direct style, Dr. Wolf takes a goal-oriented approach to therapy. She develops clear treatment plans and measures progress using standardized psychological tools to ensure that care remains focused, structured, and effective.
In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Wolf is an experienced forensic psychologist with a focus on child and adult trauma. Her forensic work includes court evaluations, psychological assessments, expert record review, trial consultation, and teaching testimony. Her trauma expertise includes sexual abuse and assault, interpersonal violence, the impact of medical malpractice, animal bites, car accidents, and abduction. She also has subspecialties in problematic sexual behaviors, child custody and parenting matters, autism, and international child abduction cases. Dr. Wolf conducts a range of assessments, including trauma evaluations, mitigation assessments, civil damages evaluations, parenting capacity assessments, and psychosexual evaluations. She routinely testifies as an expert witness in civil and criminal matters across the country and has also testified in military court and administrative hearings.
Dr. Wolf serves as an Adjunct Professor in the forensic psychology program at George Washington University and has previously taught at the University of Maryland, College Park. She was also the President of the Maryland Psychological Association for the 2025-2026 term. She holds a Juris Doctor degree and is licensed to practice law in both Maryland and Washington, DC.
In addition to her clinical and forensic work, Dr. Wolf is a consultant and national trainer for the National Center on the Sexual Behavior of Youth within the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences. She is a certified Within Agency Trainer for Problematic Sexual Behaviors Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (PSB-CBT) and a certified Level 1 Trainer in Parent Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT).
Dr. Wolf is trained in a variety of research-based treatments, including Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Reconsolidation of Traumatic Memories (RTM) Protocol, Child Family Traumatic Stress Intervention (CFTSI), Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions (SPACE), and Alternatives for Families Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (AF-CBT). A lifelong learner, she consistently updates her skills and seeks training in cutting-edge methods for her work.
