Shannon Martin Dantzler, M.S.
Psychology Associate
Ms. Shannon Martin Dantzler is a licensed psychology associate with more than 15 years of experience supporting children, adolescents, and families across school, community, and clinical settings. She specializes in helping children and families navigate trauma, anxiety, OCD, tic disorders, emotion regulation, and school-related challenges. Ms. Martin Dantzler is deeply committed to providing culturally responsive assessment and therapeutic care where clients feel seen, empowered, and equipped with practical tools for moving forward.
Her clinical approach is strength-based, affirming, and grounded in evidence-based practice. She is trained in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Parent–Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), Exposure and Response Prevention, and Cognitive Behavioral Intervention for Tics. When appropriate for a client’s needs and goals, she also integrates expressive therapies and mindfulness practices, drawing on her experience as a certified yoga teacher.
Ms. Martin Dantzler is also a nationally certified school psychologist currently working in Anne Arundel County Public Schools. Her school-based experience informs her understanding of students’ developmental, academic, and environmental needs, allowing her to support children and families with a well-rounded perspective.
She earned her master’s degree and advanced graduate certificate in School Psychology from CUNY Brooklyn College and completed her APA-accredited predoctoral internship at the Kennedy Krieger Institute’s Center for Child and Family Traumatic Stress and Center for Developmental Behavioral Health. She is currently a PhD candidate in School Psychology at the University of Maryland, College Park, where her research explores how creative practices can help better understand the intersection of race and emotion within school environments.
