Introduction

We meet all children and adolescent clients where they are. We include caregivers every step of the way. On occasion, for our adolescent clients, caregiver involvement may be less but this decision is an open discussion with all involved and is made together.
Once you contact us, we can set up an intake appointment or provide a phone consultation with you to best understand your concerns and determine if the services we provide can best meet your child’s needs. If we are unable to provide services that we think your child needs, we will help you find a more appropriate provider.
From the very first visit, we personalize the process to your child’s interests and needs to enhance their comfort and engage them in the process. We answer all your questions, discuss the aims of treatment overall and make sure each session’s goals are clear

Our Approach

Our approach to therapy with youth assumes that they are doing the best that they can given the stressors they face, their history, and their developmental stage. We use a creative, personalized and strengths-based approach to connect with them, as well as their caregivers, and to formulate a tailored treatment plan that best meets their needs. This often involves engaging children through games, stories, and art, as well as connecting around their specific interests, such as a favorite story book or television character or sports team.
We are firm believers in evidence-based treatments and use those that have demonstrated success through vigorous research. After an initial meeting, our clinicians provide the child’s caregivers with initial impressions and treatment recommendations.
For child therapy clients, we expect to meet with parents briefly every session to obtain information and share session goals. It is critical that parents are involved throughout treatment as they know their child best and can support treatment aims between sessions. For all therapy we will have clear goals, measure progress through standardized measures, and continue to update parents on changes we observe and treatment plan updates
